Police were called to reports of a dog attack on Washway Road in Sale and they attended with an ambulance at the scene.

For a round 20 minutes the Police helicopter hovered the scene.

We know now that two dogs attacked each other and a man had fallen and was not seriously injured.

Lots of blood was seen on the ground at the scene.

Police have since told us that the dog that was hurt in the attack is being cared for by a local vet and the one attacking the dog has been seized, if it is a banned breed the owner is likely to be questioned.

Emergency Services left after around an hour and all in full Emergency mode going to other jobs.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At 3:20pm on 25 June 2024 we were called to reports of concern for welfare of a man on Washway Road in Sale.

Initial enquiries suggest that a dog has attacked another dog, and as a result, a man has fallen over. His injuries are thankfully not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The dog that was attacked has been taken to the vets for further treatment. The offending dog has been contained and seized by police.
