Road Closure: Park Road junction with Manchester Road closed until the middle of August

Many motorists had to endure the nightmare of being stuck in huge traffic jams on Manchester Road due to essential works by gas firm Cadent.

Things are set to get worse as they close off the junction with Park Road meaning no access into Park Road at the junction, this junction will remain closed until 16 August 2024.

Diversion notices have gone up and the nightmare starts today and this includes everyone on Park Road and all that live on the side roads.

For diversion information you could try going down Canal Road on to Deansgate Lane then on to Brook Lane and then on to Navigation Road which would also get you to many other places than just Altrincham and you could also travel north bound towards Sale and Stretford.

Heading down Park Road down to Moss Lane would be another route but expect huge delays more so at peak times.

It might be wiser to hop on the Metrolink for all journeys North and South whilst work continues, or better still get on a bike and ride down the canal tow path!
