Police were called to Thistle Square in Partington to reports of unconfirmed firearms discharge at around 1.30pm on 2 August 2024

The police helicopter was also seen hovering over the scene for over an hour whilst officers investigated.

A scene remains in place whilst enquiries continue to investigate the full circumstances of what happened.

Thankfully, no one has suffered any serious injuries and a 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
