Music could be heard all around Heywood Road and as far away as Walton Park in Sale this afternoon (7 September) and early evening as Sale Sharks took on Newcastle Falcons at Sale Rugby Club.

The music from a band called ‘Sods Law’ was very good, even people walking on the nearby Bridgewater Canal tow path told our reporter they liked what they were hearing.

We was told at the ground that to watch the band you needed a ticket to the game.

Sale Sharks turned up at around 5.30pm from a white coach and marched to the changing rooms to begin preparations for the pre-season game vs Newcastle Falcons which kicked off at 7pm with the final score being a close one with Sale winning 40-39.

This was a great day out for everyone, the facility is impressive and despite the stage being in the wrong area and facing the wrong way and some dodgy stewarding we think Sale Rugby Club has a great deal to offer the community and hope that they look at bringing in some semi-pro football games and maybe some live music to enhance its profile.
