As Manufacturers across Trafford prepare for National Manufacturing Day 2024 on Thursday 26 September, GM Business Growth Hub are launching two brand new, fully funded workshops.

According to figures published by Make UK in July 2024, the UK Manufacturing industry contributed £217bn to the UK economy in 2023. It also employs 2.6 million people with average salaries of £38,769, around 10% higher than the national average.

“The UK manufacturing industry is often misunderstood, with many outdated perceptions still influencing people’s views of the sector. In reality, manufacturing in the UK is evolving rapidly, driven by innovation, technology, and a skilled workforce,” said Janine Smith, Director at GM Business Growth Hub.

“As manufacturing significantly contributes to our country’s economy, it is important for the public to have an accurate understanding of its latest developments. vThere’s no better way to dispel myths and misconceptions than by witnessing things in action and understanding the working environment and career opportunities, which is the important first step in solving the sector’s talent acquisition challenges.”

GM Business Growth Hub have two fully funded in-person workshops in September and October by inviting renowned veterans in digital marketing to provide professional advice to manufacturers in promoting their business in the internet age.

Participants will learn how to optimise their LinkedIn profiles for business growth as well as improve their digital marketing efforts and create a powerful, integrated system that yields measurable results.

“To grow your manufacturing business in the internet age, it is not only essential to apply the latest technology in the development and manufacturing process of your products, but also to master the skill of communication through digital means so that you can reach out to your target customers, let them know about the unique value of your products,” said Anne Campion, Head of Manufacturing at GM Business Growth Hub.

“These two workshops are instrumental for those manufacturers who desire to be truly ahead of the game and have the edge to compete in the latest, challenging business landscape. We at the GM Business Growth Hub are thrilled to bring them to our manufacturers in Trafford and support them in growing to their full potential in the internet age.”
