The doors will open to the Community once more at this year’s popular event at Trafford MV Rugby and Cricket Club on Finny Bank Road, off Glebelands Road, Sale on the final weekend of September.

Following on from last year’s roaring success the Club has expanded the range of beers and ciders on offer to hopefully suit all tastes and for those with a broader palate there will be Prosecco and Gin bars.

Cask ales from a number of breweries both local and further afield will be available to quench thirsts while you listen to live music and enjoy some fabulous street food.

Breweries supplying beers include Brightside Brewery, Bradfield Brewery, Libatory, Dunham Massey and Lymm Breweries, Gan Yam Brew Co (Cumbria), Coach House Brewing Co, 4T’s , Milestone and Wincle adding to the mix. Part of the range is Gluten Free and Vegan and there will also be a range of low and alcohol free options as well as soft drinks available from the bar.

As suggested in the festival name it is based on the South bank of the River Mersey and lovely riverside walks can be found just behind the Club, which are popular for walkers (with or without dogs), runners and cyclists with the Boundary and Riverside cafes along the routes.

The beer festival will take place in the clubs expansive main function room and in the hope of good weather there is also plenty of seating on the sun trap patio outside. Spreading across two days the event will attract several hundred visitors.

Opening on Friday Sept 27th at 5.00pm until 11.00pm and running through Saturday from Noon until 11.00pm – there is sure to be lots of enjoyment had by all.

On the Saturday afternoon there will also be live Rugby action to watch as Trafford MV welcome Aldwinians to MacPherson Park for a 2.15pm kick off and all Spectators welcome.

Tickets for the Beer Festival are available from the Clubhouse bar during opening hours and will also be available via Eventbrite ticketing – just search for the event South Of The River Beer Festival.

Admission is £5 and advance purchases will receive a programme, souvenir glass and a free drink – tickets purchased on the day at point of entry do not qualify for the free drink!

We look forward to seeing lots of faces both new and old and we are sure you will all enjoy the event whichever session you attend – or both even!

On the day there will be raffles, etc so please bring cash as we will be supporting our charity partner for this years event 3 Dads Walking who work alongside Papyrus UK Suicide Prevention promoting awareness and prevention of suicide among young people.

Trafford MV has a huge involvement with young boys and girls within Trafford as a sporting hub for all age groups from 3 years though to adulthood and as such is acutely aware of issues faced by young people. We would ask you to show your support.

The event will attract people from across the borough in a great social event. Local business will have the opportunity to promote themselves as barrel sponsors and customers will be able to enjoy the great facilities
