Natalie Ramdas wanted to lose some weight and when a friend suggested to her to join her local Slimming World group at St. Johns Church in Flixton on a Thursday night she decided that enough was enough and that she needed to try it out.
It is believed that over 50% of adults have tried a fad diet which Natalie could relate to after having tried all other ways to lose weight.
“Slimming world taught me to eat family friendly meals that are quick and affordable, and most importantly i never go hungry, I can’t believe I have lost over 4.5 stone, eating real foods like sweet and sour chicken skewers with rice”
An online survey commissioned by Slimming World, in where more than 2000 adults were questioned, over a third said that they found out about a fad diet on Social media and 35% said that they could only stick to it for up to 6 days.
Natalie however was told by her friend not only how Slimming World could work for her but was also told about Trafford’s 12 week self referral scheme.
“Because Slimming World is recognised as an evidence based plan Trafford Council are offering residents the opportunity to apply for 12 weeks in a local Slimming World group and I was surprised that all I didn’t need to visit my GP but instead I could just call a partnership team, this has not only changed my life for the better but also my childrens because this summer I could really enjoy all the activities that they love, I finally went on a rollar coaster with my daughter and could run around with them without feeling out of breath or that I could not keep up.”
Natalie attends her local Slimming World group at St. Johns Church, Flixton every Thursday at 5:30pm and 7pm with Claire. To find your local Slimming World group head to http://www.Slimmingworld.co.uk
