The volunteer group ASEZ WAO, from the World Mission Society Church of God, Manchester branch, gathered for a cleanup campaign in efforts to ‘Tidy Trafford Together.’
This event held even more significance for local members as they celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Church of God. Volunteers were joined on the day by Trafford Mayor Amy Whyte.
The cleanup effort spanned from Cornbrook Tram Station to Trafford Bar Tram Station, covering two tram stops, Chester Road, and nearby residential areas.
Volunteers worked enthusiastically, filling bags with debris and restoring the road and tram stations to their original condition. In just two hours, they collected over 55 bags of rubbish, totalling approximately 250 kg.
The Trafford Mayor expressed gratitude to the volunteers, noting … “The young adult work by ASEZ WAO is absolutely fantastic” and “Thank you for all that you do, changing the world one litter pick at a time.”

A regular volunteer with ASEZ WAO highlighted the positive impact of participating in the cleanup, stating …
“It was fantastic to see so many volunteers coming out today to support ASEZ WAO’s clean-up campaign in Trafford. Despite the rain, all the members carried out the work in high spirits and lots of rubbish was collected. It was wonderful to meet the Mayor who gave us support and encouragement and we are thankful to give something back to our community.”
