This weekend see’s Trafford MV travel to New Brighton, the team that came up last season as both teams earned promotion – Trafford as Champions.

This is another marker game for Trafford MV as they continue to establish themselves at level 7 in the Counties 1 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire League. Having won 2 out of 3 games to date against Liverpool St Helens and Broughton Park there is a self belief in the team that is promising for head coach Brian Collier. 

Trafford have worked their way to 6th place in the league just behind, but level on 10 points, with Heaton Moor. New Brighton have won 1 from 3 and they are set next to bottom in 11th place ahead of Glossop who started the season with a 15 point deduction.

Traffords 2nd XV play at home against Aldwinians having started the season well with wins at Rossendale and Rochdale and hold onto 5th place in the NOWIRUL County Couriers Division 3 Central of HALBRO North West Leagues.

Their opponents have won 1 from 1 and are in 7th place. Trafford will be looking for their young team to continue in their good form looking for a favourable result.

The Clubs 3rd XV are due to travel to Bolton where a tight game is expected as the teams sit side by side in the NOWIRUL J. Balshaw Carpets and Curtains Division 5 East of HALBRO North West Leagues. Both teams have won 1 from 2 games with Bolton sitting 8th and TMV 9th placed. All senior mens games ko at 3.00pm.

On Sunday there is a fixture for Trafford MV Ladies team as they welcome Birkenhead Park Womens team to MacPherson Park (M33 6LR). Trafford’s Ladies have picked up wins in both their opening games against Carlisle and Broughton Park.

The game kicks off at 2.00pm and spectators are very welcome. Trafford MV are working hard on introducing Rugby into the lives of local girls as they build playing squads for age groups from U12 age group.

All girls are welcome to play Rugby at Trafford MV – just get in touch as below and your enquiry will be dealt with. Next year 2025 brings the Women’s Rugby World Cup to England with games being played locally.

As momentum grows in the season Trafford MV are looking to further recruit to enable their sides to fulfil fixtures and compete well in the respective leagues.

This weekend brings the South Of The River Beer Festival to Trafford MV opening at 5.00pm on Friday and Noon on Saturday. There will be a wide range of cask ales and ciders on offer plus good food and music as well as live and televised sport. Admission is £5 on the door – non members are welcome
