A British Airways Airbus A319-100, flight BA-1306 from London Heathrow, to Aberdeen Airport on September 27 was climbing to fight level 280 when the crew of the aircraft put on their oxygen masks and diverted to Manchester.
The crew reporting fumes in the cabin. After a go around the Airbus aircraft landed safely at Manchester Airport.
Passengers took to social media reporting on the smell of fumes which is an emergency, During May this year a Turkish Airlines flight landed at Manchester Airport due to smells from the cabin, many other aircraft have has similar experiences, a few have crashed so flight crew do not take any chances and land the aircraft as soon as they can.
When all was clear with the BA aircraft returned back to Healthrow (LHR) several hours after the divert.
