According to Met Office and other sources a huge storm is currently gaining strength in the Atlantic and set to hit the Western side of the UK and further inland on Sunday.

The only reason why this is happening is because of the Jet Stream high up where some aircraft fly, the jet stream sometimes pulls in storms and gives it more energy, it seems this one is very energetic and will cause widespread windy conditions and intense downpours for some areas.

At the time of publishing and as you can see by the image above from WXCharts the storm actually moves towards Scotland but brings with it a trail of strong winds and heavy rain over the UK.

If things intensify further then we have even higher winds and action will be needed by most of us to ensure you and your property is safe more so this Sunday.

Before then we will have intermittent showers sometimes this could be heavy or prolonged, tomorrow will see a better day for Manchester then rain continues during late evening and into Friday.

Friday afternoon looks to be dry at this time but the rain soon comes in during early evening and overnight.

The best day will be Saturday for Manchester although weather maps does predict some isolated showers for some of us, during the evening though things will start getting worse as this storm nears the UK.

We will keep everyone up to date nearer the weekend and will have Met Office forecasts on our Weather page.
