Due to the hour change it means we have an extra hour in bed so there is a good side effect to the time change however the longer dark night presents us with an alarming fact that more people die or have accidents on our roads.
This has helped politicians to have a debate on whether we should keep our time zone as BST which means the light is extended during Autumn and Winter months however no one has made any decision so far.
