We reported on the situation where migrants are being moved into a 110 room 4 star hotel in Altrincham and we now have a statement from Trafford Reform Party.
Many residents have complained about the migrants coming into Altrincham with many concerned for their safety.
Altrincham and Sale West MP Connor Rand have sent a letter to the Government with many questions one being the safety of the public and how the NHS will cope with over 300+ more people in the area.
It will also be a venue for some auditors on YouTube.
A statement from Trafford Reform Party said: “Since Labour took office, over 16,000 people have crossed the channel in small boats, despite continuous pledges from the prime minister to end the crisis on our shores.
We were also told by Angela Rayner during the general election campaign that every borough in the country will be required to take their fair share of asylum seekers.
It therefore comes as no surprise to me that Altrincham will be accommodating almost 300 at the Cresta Court Hotel, for a minimum of twelve months.
The fact that the Conservatives, who continually promised to reduce UK net migration, are
jumping on this issue locally now is utter hypocrisy.
Their Rwanda deportation scheme cost the taxpayer £700m. An ill thought out policy that was never going to work, whilst under the jurisdiction of the European convention on human rights (ECHR).
Whilst I completely understand the concerns of residents about the potential risk to public safety, we must entrust the home office to put in place the correct measures to safeguard everyone.
My greatest concern, personally, is the impact this process will have on our public services in Trafford, which are already under huge pressure.
Rest assured, our group of Reform UK MP’s will be pushing the government for additional
support to the Police and our NHS trusts in Gtr Manchester.
We must also be braced for further numbers to arrive as Keir Starmer seeks to strike a new relationship with the EU. A recent meeting in Brussels suggested that the European
Commission would be looking to the UK to accept a further 30,000 migrants and their families.
We of course have our part to play in granting people a safe haven when fleeing from war or persecution. Britain therefore urgently needs an immigration system that is both humane and economically sustainable. More importantly a government with the guts to implement it.”
We have just read from official sources that some of the migrants have already moved in.
