Councillors not listening to residents concerns about migrants in Altrincham

At last nights full Trafford Council meeting councillors debated some very important issues with one being the Cresta Court Hotel where currently 300 migrants are living.

The migrants debate went on for over 40 minutes with Labour, Lib Dems and Green Party defending the migrants with only the Tories actually listening to residents concerns.

Most people are very angry that these people can just go into a 4 star hotel and have a life of free luxury, the hotel is 4 star and can cost upwards of £75 a night! when we know all about how most people in Trafford are struggling to make ends meet.

The homeless people some of which used to fight for us in wars are having to find shelter because their is nowhere to go, many homeless have to find a hostel which we have been told is not the safest place to be.

We had a message about a woman from Altrincham who has cancer and has to live in freezing cold conditions and struggles to make ends meet on a daily basis, she tells us she has had enough of this useless government and wants them out and angry at the councillors for not listening to the public about the migrants.

“We do not know who these people are” is something many people say either at the hotel or on social media, the fear is real in local people and in the wider community simply because some believe the councillors are both sticking up for the migrants and not listening to concerns.

Anti-social behaviour and crimes were mentioned in the meeting, Again they were on the side of the migrants, as if they knew them all! It might be right that other migrants staying at other places have actually been of benefit to an area such as Old Trafford however all the other migrants from our information came with family! the new migrants in Cresta Court are all single men.

We can tell the Altrincham Green Councillor that they are not hear to make friends, three guys were seen shouting at a man minding his own business close to the hotel in Altrincham.

One individual snapped when he was being interviewed which could have meant either he would have stolen his phone or would have dropped and likely to have smashed, this was not people who are here to make friends, others on YouTube have also found it hard to talk to these people.

Standing off like they have done (although their own right) is still not a friendly way to try and show that they are all here and we have nothing to worry about! this is more of a standoff which doesn’t help any councillor believing they are nice people.

Police will only come when a crime has been committed and that crime has to be life threatening, otherwise you could be waiting for days or even weeks! unless you are incredibly lucky due to the low levels of staff.

This is not the fault of the police but of the previous government cutting police staff, and the new one all over the place we do not expect any changes anytime soon.

It does though put communities in a false sense of security and with 300 men coming in from wherever on boats and the way they have already been in the small time they have been here as stated is not a good way to start.

Many of the migrants speak perfect English so no reason to stand off on people.

We stand by the people of this borough fully and it is for the councillors to do the same and now is the time!
