Christmas is here and so it was time for the organisers of the Chestnut Drive Christmas Lights to be switched on for 2024.

The weather was perfect for such a special evening in Sale which brought a very large gathering of local people who are amazed about how great the lights are and welcomed Santa’s presence which made the night even more festive.

With the local people were political councillors and families who joined in the fun and who have helped out when needed.

Simon who is one of the organisers said: “We appreciate many people have felt the pinch in 2024 and we would love our Christmas lights to help families who are struggling and bring some joy at this wonderful time of year.

“Enjoy the lights and if you would like to make a donation we have our two chosen charities which are:

  • Mission Christmas Cash for Kids This charity helps brings a smile to children living in poverty, the final date we can accept donations is 17 December and all donations will be delivered to a collection point at B&M on 18 December.
  • M33 Sale Cat Food Bank: This group assists people living in Sale and in other areas of Trafford who are struggling to feel their cats during hard times, We are asking for any donations of wet or dry cat food, We also accept any spare dog food that we will deliver to DOGS4 rescue in Irlam.

“Donations for both of the above named charities can be left in the porch of 81 Chestnut Drive. We are also supporting two further chosen charities chosen by the Mayor of Trafford which are:

  • Cardiac Risk in the Young
  • FOP Friends

“Merry Christmas one and all from the residents of Chestnut Drive.”
