Fire engines surrounded the Emirates A380 on Sunday evening at Manchester Airport, the flight EK20 was scheduled to take off at its normal time but was delayed by a suspected fuel leak.

According to Flight Radar 24 the aircraft was re scheduled to take off to Dubai at around 12.20am however this time and the flight had vanished.

With the amount of fire engines at the scene this was no small fuel leak and it’s unknown at the time of publishing if the passengers were on board at the time of the leak or if they were at the gate waiting to board.

A very large fuel leak is a serious situation for an aircraft even for the biggest passenger jet in the world, the flight crew will turn off everything until the leak was found and made safe for the aircraft to continue operating.

We will update this article when more is known.
