Our green belt that many of us take granted for is at risk of vanishing with new changes that will mean another 1.500 new homes will be built in Trafford.

We must all agree that the borough needs new housing and must be for the people that have waited for over a decade to be rehoused and to the increasing number of homeless people before any illegal migrant.

This need though must not mean we see half or more of our green belt gone and it looks very likely this will now happen after the incompetent Labour government brought about new rules to planning laws.

At this time it will mean the new huge housing development in Partington/Warburton will no longer need planning permission meaning all the green belt will be gone, and possibly the historic deer park destroyed.

Councillors or the Stretford and Umston MP will not be able to stop this housing development, campaigners can campaign but this won’t stop anything, its a scary thing for both the green belt and for residents in Partington.

Another serious issue has to be addressed and that is the levels of pollution, Councillors are not talking about this issue, it seems they all believe that every new house in a huge housing development will not come with a car, how deluded!

The current and now finished Broadway Housing Scheme in Partington is the perfect example of this, having checked, almost all have a car or two! this is also happening on nearby Heath Farm Lane although that has not yet been fully completed yet.

For every house comes a car and every car or van also means less space on the road network not just in Partington but everywhere in Trafford, every car or van also means more pollution in the air that is killing over 100 people a year in Trafford.

You will not hear this information from councillors! if any of them are bothered they will consult Defra which if they looked a bit deeper do not have any specific recordings in Trafford.

So the side effects of the new housing once completed in Partington and other areas will be felt by everyone in the borough and once the green belt has been lost its lost forever and with the air quality already bad things will get worse and more people will die.

The impact of more people in an area means more infrastructure will be needed, shops, GP surgeries, Dentists, and schools, even Schools for 2025/26 show zero places for new students in years 10 and 11.

More people means more strain on NHS services and Police who are already stretched, by building new housing developments will be really bad for just about everything that matters to existing residents.
