Road closure signage and other road block infrastructure has been thrown to the side leaving Covershaw Lane in Partington looking like its reopened, This road continues to be closed.

At both ends of Covershaw Lane road closure signage and barriers have been either relocated or brushed to the side which in the eyes of the law is an offence under the Highways Acts 1980 section 174.

This is pure vandalism and could be putting others in danger including cyclists and walkers who continue to use the road despite it being closed.

At the ‘No longer a sinkhole’ a huge dip can be seen and it is expected with further torrential rain the part of road will end up in a much worse condition, any cars or vans that go over it now would make that process faster and could endanger the driver.

Despite the road now looking like its open more so from Moss Lane/Chapel Lane junction in Partington, once you get to the small bridge over SInderland Brook two huge stones that resemble lego pieces are in situ and no car will be going any further.

Although it is understandable people are becoming frustrated with the delays it is not worth putting yourself and others at risk of serious injury or worse, as stated you could be delaying things further if more damage is done which could even mean that road is closed for another year!

We have sent a report to the council to ensure road closure signage is put in place and to get the huge oblong stones back in place.
