The Met Office and other weather forecasters have predicted strong winds for this weekend with gusts of over 50mph in Greater Manchester.
It will be a grim weekend more so on Sunday as rain and even snow is forecast for the hills, the temperature is forecast to be 11c on Saturday and 6c on Saturday, with the windchill it will be much colder and a few snow showers may fall at lower levels.
WXCharts weather forecasts have been proven to be most accurate and it predicts a very dry Christmas day and hardly any wind around, however looking at New Years the bad weather returns with high winds and lots of rain.
For this weekend though you will need to wrap up warm and wear your waterproofing, and take care when venturing outside more so if you are cycling, winds look to be coming from a Westerly direction and turns to a North Westerly direction on Sunday.
