Dense fog has hit Manchester for the second day and has disrupted Manchester Airport with huge delays of over an hour.
According to Flight Radar 24 delays are currently 86 minutes and has placed the airport in category 5 which is severe.
Fog became worse as the day progressed and here in Trafford visibility was down to around 100 yards in much of the borough, things were much worse in the country lanes heading towards Partington.
If you are a cyclist you need to take extra precautions tonight as the fog may get worse reducing your visibility, make sure your lights are working, use as much Hi-Viz as you can more so on your legs and feet.
For everyone its important to keep warm if venturing outside this evening, simply wearing a bubble jacket won’t have much affect, wear a couple of t-shirts if you don’t have a base layer and a snood or scarf with good gloves.
Good news is the Fog clears by around 10am tomorrow (28 December) and we will see the last of it until the wind comes back to bite us for New Years Eve and even worse on New Years Day!
According to weather predictions from Windy App wind gusts on New Years Eve will be around 40mph and on New Years Day around 50mph and its going to be like that much of the day.
