Due to all the rain we have had it’s left many back roads and pavements wet and with the temperature dropping ice has formed on many back roads and pavements.
Some black ice has also formed on a large part of a pavement on Washway Road in Sale, according to a resident its just past Woodheys Club heading towards Homelands Road on the right, you will not see this when its dark.
Other back roads and pavements will be tricky tonight and during the morning and you should take care whilst out and about.
Cyclists should keep to the main roads as they have been gritted, take caution when turning into a back street more so during the evening.
We suggest buying a pair of ice cleats that slip over your trainers or shoes these are ideal for ice although thick ice might still be tricky, they are around £10/15 on Amazon and will be useful for years to come.
The weather is forecast to be dry until weekend when snow will be the feature and yet more rain after which WXCharts suggest high pressure will be present for a while with no rain, snow or wind forecast.
