As predicted snow fell heavily during the early hours in Trafford and many snowmen was built, now the after effects as the rivers are on the rise again.
Most parks had some great snowmen and Walton Park had some of the best in Trafford, the Snow stopped and for much of the afternoon kids and adults got to work and made some great snowmen.
Sadly the rain started to fall and people started to return home leaving the snowmen to melt away.
The snow has all but gone now with rain falling for much of the evening and the temperature rises during the night, Some snow showers could fall on Monday and Tuesday however it will be mostly light rain showers until Wednesday when high pressure comes in and dominates which means dry weather until weekend.
With the delights of the snow comes the thaw and the rain which means rivers are on the rise again, The River Mersey is on flood alert with all catchments on the rise at Altrincham, Sale and Partington, at the time of publishing Flixton catchment is not rising but holding steady.
