A huge 25m (82 feet) mobile phone mast could go up on land at Turn Moss Playing Fields if Trafford Council Planning Committee approves an application submitted today.
The 12 antennas will be on what is known on a lattice tower also included will be many other radio equipment such as RRU’s and AAU’s which helps give the signal more distance.
If this mast is approved it will be seen from almost everywhere and could interfere with TV signals for people on nearby Edge Lane, with nothing shielding the mast it will look horrible and is not a suitable location for such infrastructure.
O2 have increased the 5G coverage to many more areas of Trafford and in this area where the mast is proposed to be built is very good according to coverage maps, they do have places where coverage is patchy but in other areas.
Turn Moss is also on a civil safeguarding area or a defence safeguarding area, the firm who will hope to be installing the mast ‘Clarke Telecom’ have written to Manchester Airport which can be seen in the application however no reply information was seen.
You can view the entire application by going to Trafford Planning Search and entering the reference number
