According to WXCharts weather maps the snow we saw today was the last we will have for sometime as dryer and warmer weather is predicted.

High pressure comes in from the weekend, leaving the entire country with some good weather for a change; the snow and ice will soon melt away.

With the amount of snow that fell meant some transport issues during the morning, all main roads and the motorways were at a standstill although cleared by around 11am, Manchester Airport was also affected with snow on the runways and ice forming made it dangerous for flights to come in and out of the airport leading to delays and diverts.

YouTuber SImon Lowe was streaming live and gave all his followers some amazing footage as he does whenever he is live, if you like aircraft this is simply the best footage, no nonsense coverage with a focus on professionalism.

Aircraft today was delayed by hours and many had to divert to other airports or did go around until Air Traffic Control gave them the all clear to land.

Whilst according to predictions we should not have anymore snow or rain, for the next couple of days we will continue to have freezing cold temperatures meaning the snow and ice will stick around.

Use extreme caution when out and about until the temperatures rise at the weekend, One Trafford gritting team have done an exceptional job of clearing the roads however left many pavements and back roads in a shocking state where in past times they did much better making residents safer on the pavements and back roads.
