Police have charged a man from Stretford after he burnt a copy of the Quran in Manchester City Centre.
Martin Frost (10/03/1977) from Stretford has been charged with causing racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, distress.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Magistrates Court today Monday 3 February 2025.
This charge comes after Police received reports of racially aggravated public order offence following an incident in the city centre at the Glade of Light memorial on Saturday 1 February.
Anyone with information around the incident is still asked to call 101 quoting incident 3713 of 31/01/2025. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
