Trafford MV Rugby Club in Sale are putting a call out to all the Social Rugby players that have drifted out of the game, mainly since the Covid lock downs.
Many players found other pastimes and many more opted for an early, maybe premature retirement from the game. Youths who had played at school found themselves with no connection to a Club to follow up and progress into an adult team. Others may have moved into the Manchester area and failed to make a connection with a rugby club and may now be missing the sport.
Whatever the reason, with the 6 Nations now in full flow, the blood may now be flowing through the veins with the exciting rugby on show on the International stages. Trafford MV are calling out to all those players that still want to have a run out, with their team mates, on a rugby pitch on a Saturday afternoon.
Social Rugby needs a big boost and a Saturday afternoon game with a few social drinks with your pals is just the boost it needs.
If you wish to train and play for the 1st and 2nd XV’s you can do but we also have our Social 3rd XV where players young and old / experienced and novices / large and small and of all abilities come together with the commitment to train. Maybe work or family life limits the time you can commit to Club Rugby – we can work with that and around it – as long as you wish to play Rugby.
The sport is great for making new friends and for mental well being, reducing stress and getting fresh air and exercise to relieve the stresses of work and home life. It is also good fro giving structure and timelines to week with something to aim for and look forward to.
If you want to take the first steps back into Rugby or make your very first steps into the game as your new sport then do not be afraid of getting in touch and making that enquiry.
To help total novices and those who maybe think they are past their sell by date we also have Walking Rugby and Social Touch Rugby to get you, or keep you, engaged in the sport.
If you don’t want to play at all we would still like to invite you into a proper Rugby Club to watch the 6 Nations games being televised and to enjoy a social drink and fun and banter in a Rugby Clubhouse. We will be showing all this weekends 6 Nations games in the Clubhouse at Trafford MV (M33 6LR) on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
