Hits Radio’s Mike Toolan recently hit the streets of Greater Manchester to team up with NHS Greater Manchester in a campaign designed to help the public navigate local healthcare options.

The campaign, Get to Know Where to Go aims to raise awareness about various healthcare services available to the public – from pharmacies and urgent dental services; to walk-in centres and urgent care; GPs and NHS 111.

With many people unsure of where to turn for everyday health issues, this initiative offers helpful tips and advice in a fun, engaging way to guide residents on where to go.

Throughout the campaign, Mike Toolan asked the Greater Manchester public, “do you know where to go for conditions like a sore throat, sprained limb, urinary tract infection or toothache?”. The initiative shared local options, and highlighted expert advice from NHS professionals, offering valuable guidance on how to access the right care.

Mike Toolan said, “It was amazing to get out and speak to the public directly about something as important as their health. So many people don’t know where to go for common problems, and this campaign makes sure they have the information they need”.

The campaign, which included interviews and on-the-ground interaction with the public, also featured a Video now available to watch, showcasing the conversation between Mike and Greater Manchester residents.

The video highlights the range of services available and provides essential tips on making the right healthcare choices.

“We’re thrilled with the response to this campaign,” said Dr Manisha Kumar, chief medical officer, for NHS Greater Manchester. “It’s vital that people know where to go when they need help, and Mike did a fantastic job of getting the message across in a fun and relatable way.”

The video is now available across both Hits Radio and NHS Greater Manchester channels, offering the public valuable insights into where they can turn for healthcare advice, support, and treatment. Visit their pages to view and use gmintegratedcare.org.uk/gtkwtg to get to know where to go.
