Wayne Devlin BCAa, the acclaimed jazz swing singer and actor who once graced the stages of Las Vegas and has appeared in films and top British TV dramas, has made an unexpected career move—joining Asda in Trafford Park, Manchester.
Wayne, a celebrated entertainer and a friend of the late, great Tony Bennett, performed at prestigious venues such as the Golden Nugget Casino and the Flamingo Casino in Las Vegas. His acting career has been just as illustrious, with roles in major productions like Get Santa, Guardians of the Galaxy, Peaky Blinders, Coronation Street, Happy Valley, After The Flood, and Emmerdale, among many others.
However, despite his success in the entertainment industry, Wayne has chosen to step away from the limelight and embrace a new role—serving the community in a different way. His natural charisma, love of people, and years of experience engaging with audiences make him a perfect fit for Asda, where he is already proving to be a customer favourite.
“Joining Asda feels like coming full circle,” said Wayne. “Rollback was a huge part of my shopping experience growing up, and now I get to be part of bringing that tradition back. I love working with my amazing Asda colleagues and being part of a team that truly cares about the community as much as I do. It’s great to see Asda returning to its roots, giving customers the great value they remember and deserve.”
Known for his tireless charity work, Wayne has dedicated years to fundraising and community initiatives raising over a million pounds for good causes, including supporting underprivileged children and promoting literacy through book donations. His passion for helping others now extends to his work at Asda, where he brings warmth and kindness to every interaction.
Customers and colleagues alike are already noticing the exceptional service he provides, with many commenting on his world-class customer service skills—honed over years of performing on some of the biggest stages in the world.
Allan Leighton, Executive Chairman at Asda, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Wayne ‘The Crooner’ Devlin to Asda. While we think all our colleagues are stars, few will have dazzled Vegas crowds and appeared in films. Wayne’s dedication to giving back to the community is already well known, and we’re excited to see him bring that same energy to Asda. He’ll be serving up smiles, personality, and a bit of swing at our Trafford Park store. If he can serenade a Vegas crowd, we’re sure he’ll hit all the right notes with customers in Manchester.”
Wayne Devlin’s journey from showbiz to supermarket may be unconventional, but his dedication to bringing joy to people remains unchanged. Whether on stage, on screen, or in the aisles of Asda, Wayne continues to do what he does best—connecting with people and making their day a little brighter.
