According to the latest data seen on the Food Standards Agency’s website two takeaways from Partington have recently received bad food hygiene scores.

Charcoal Grill Fish Bar on Smithy Lane and Ishys on Oak Road have both been given a 1 rating which means major improvement necessary, before the new ratings both had fairly good ratings.

It is important to remember that even though they have bad food hygiene ratings it does not always mean its due to the food being dangerous to eat, takeaways also have the right to an appeal or could have rectified whatever the issues are and are awaiting a new score.

We have spoken to a few owners about there ratings, in one instance a takeaway manager told us that they had been dropped from 3 which is satisfactory to a 2 rating simply because of not keeping the log book up to date and not always checking fridge and freezer temperatures.

Although these things are seemingly minor, it could be meat and other things can go off easily but because no records have been kept the takeaway didn’t take out the out of date food and served it to customers who could have gone on to have sickness.

To get a 1 rating suggests something much worse is going on although not as bad as the lowest rating of a 0 (zero) which will mean bad sanitation, mold, rodent/insect infestation, dirty floor and work boards/knives/forks/plates/cartons etc.

We have asked for the Trafford Environmental inspectors report on both takeaways and will update you in a new article once the reports are received, it is hoped though both do have better scores soon as we are fully aware they offer not only good value but nice food.
