An Iceland delivery driver is in trouble after speeding through a dangerous Zebra Crossing opposite Sam Brooks on Manor Avenue in Sale on 01/03/25 at around 6.30pm.

A resident contacted us about what happened, the man who does not wished to be named told us he was clearly visible and was waiting to cross when the van sped up, it went so fast he claims that he couldn’t even get a photo but did remember part of the registration.

It is an offence when going through a zebra crossing when someone is waiting to cross, failing to stop could see you get a fine and points on your licence.

We also remind motorists of a GMP camera located close to the zebra crossing which could be used to track down the Iceland driver.

Iceland are now investigating and have said they take it very seriously when something like this happens and are going to find the driver responsible for this potentially dangerous situation.

The resident who is from Broadheath was satisfied with the action taken by Iceland however this zebra crossing has a bad history of accidents due to drivers not even paying attention, often blanking pedestrians waiting to cross the road.

Manor Avenue is not a safe road on any part of it and much more needs to be done to ensure no more incidents happen at the zebra crossing.

We have since contacted a ward councillor for a statement.
