Trafford Rowing Club is celebrating an unprecedented achievement this year.

A remarkable ten of its junior rowers have been selected to represent the North West at rowing – whilst the club have always over-achieved based on the size of the club this is a significant leap from the usual three or four selected in previous years. This highlights the club’s ability to consistently produce top-tier athletes, despite its size.

The club, based in Walton Park, Sale, has long been known for its dedication to nurturing young talent, offering expert coaching and a supportive environment. The selection of ten juniors to the North West squad is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the athletes, coaches, and volunteers who make Trafford Rowing Club a powerhouse in the local junior rowing scene.

“To have ten of our juniors representing the North West is an incredible achievement,” said Graham Whistance, Chairman at Trafford Rowing Club. “It really showcases the strength of our training program and the determination of our rowers. We are incredibly proud of Leo, Seb, Erin, Tabby, Martha, Ava, Sam M, Sam C, Gloria and Rebecca and we are excited to see them compete at the national level with the best in the country.”

As Trafford Rowing Club continues to grow and produce outstanding rowers, the club is now looking to expand its facilities to support their athletes. With an increasing number of people showing interest in the sport, additional equipment, coaching resources, and improved infrastructure are needed to accommodate the next generation of rowers.

“We have a fantastic community at Trafford Rowing Club, but our current facilities are limiting us,” added Graham Whistance. “With the right support and investment, we can continue to provide opportunities for young rowers to excel.”

The club is actively seeking funding and support from local businesses, sponsors, and the community to help make this expansion a reality. Anyone interested in contributing or learning more about Trafford Rowing Club is encouraged to contact chairman@traffordrowing.club
