Police appeal for information following a suspected armed robbery in Stretford Mall

Police are appealing for information following a suspected armed robbery at a jewellery store in Stretford Shopping Mall.

Shortly before midday on 24 March 2025, it’s been reported that a male was armed with what is believed to be a handgun he entered the store before making off with £10k worth of gold.

Nobody was injured and no arrests have been made.

Police investigating this incident have followed up with several lines of enquiry and are now asking if the public have any information.

Detective Sergeant Kris McBurnie said: “This was a terrifying and shocking ordeal that thankfully resulted in no major harm to the staff members working but has understandably left them shaken by the incident.

“If you saw anything suspicious in Stretford Shopping Mall around 12pm, or anyone with any information or dash cam footage from around this time, is encouraged to call 101 quoting log 1259 of 24/03/2025.

“Alternatively, you can remain anonymous by contacting our independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
