News and opinion

It would be a surprise to most people that the migrant tents that were seen for months in Manchester City Centre are now right on our doorsteps here in Trafford.

The tents are right outside Trafford Council’s Sale Waterside site, and the number of tents is growing by the day.

For those who are aware, it has brought with it both sympathy and horror. Information about the illegal migrants who are trying to apply for asylum was moved under the noses of all Trafford’s opposition parties into Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, where they have been staying ever since.

We know from our ongoing research that the migrants get:

  • Free energy (Gas and Electricity) and Water
  • Three meals a day
  • Free NHS care including Dentist
  • Free Laundry
  • Free Aspen card (It seems they all get up to £50 a week)
  • Free Tent and warm duvet and pillow if they get kicked out of the hotel
  • Free mobiles

Remember, if they come via a boat, they are illegal migrants until they are officially recognized as asylum seekers; none of those at Altrincham and now Sale that we can gather have been processed.

One of the most concerning things for most people is that no one knows anything about these individuals coming into the country. No assurances have so far been given by both the authorities and the police about this situation.

We have heard an illegal migrant claim he has been in prison, but no information has been provided about what he had done. Most migrants seem to be unconcerned about leaving their families behind, with one migrant we have seen stating he left Kuwait for a better life in the UK! This is truly crazy; however, something sinister is at play here.

What we have found out is that many migrants are sending money back home, taking the UK for a ride. It would be the same as laughing at us, and worse, they will already know about the really bad situation even here in Trafford with the social housing situation, with people waiting for more than a decade just to get an offer of a place to live.

They will know about the benefits crisis, with the most vulnerable being attacked by a cruel, calculated, and downright cold Labour government. The migrants must be not only are they laughing at us, but now in some type of fit knowing they may have caused the government to attack its own people.

It is fair to say that the migrants have paid a lot of money to get on a boat and risk their lives getting to the UK, and sadly, some have died. Some would agree that we should treat them as humans and look after them; others agree that even illegal migrants are running from dreadful circumstances.

There is a morality and a reality to this: on the one hand, morally we should help those fleeing from bad circumstances; on a reality point of view, why should the UK look after illegal migrants—the type that comes in huge inflatables? Whose fault is it that they ended up in the UK? Did we bring them?

Once asylum is approved, then we have the full rights to keep these people. Until then, why should we let them have around £600 a month, free everything, wearing expensive designer clothing and trainers that cost around £160, a brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max that is around £1,300, and a free hotel stay with nothing to pay when our own are suffering?

The truth of the matter is that we, as a country, have never really looked after our own. Successive governments have done very little. Our own people, whatever skin color or religion, have not had it good for years, and now things have dropped so far that the most vulnerable in society are paying the price under the disguise of being fakers, fraudsters, and more false defamatory statements that would make most people look up for a second!

People on the housing list having to wait years to find a suitable home will have to wait more. It’s not good having Trafford Council rant about how much we need houses; these people are mad! They are allowing housing developers to build affordable homes! What is the point in that? The most important housing for the majority of UK-born people is for social housing.

Migrants who do get asylum will get a flat or house before UK-born people—that is already certain. Is this fair? Could the millions waiting to move out into a nice home in Trafford get on a boat and hope France or elsewhere in Europe gives them £600 a month, free everything, and an almost guaranteed home to live in after they wait for asylum? You know the answer to that one!

We point fingers at both the Tories for 14 years of failure and now Labour under a PM who has more front than a garden gate! They are only copying what the Tories have done; no ideas, the Tories claim, and boy, are they right with that one! Both have failed in the UK; both have all but thrown us under the bus, and this migrant issue is their own doing that eventually will end up in more chaotic scenes than you can imagine right now!
