Businesses in Broadheath are joining forces this Saturday (17 May) to host a charity fundraiser in aid of The Christie Hospital and Stockdales, a Sale-based charity that helps people with learning disabilities.

The event is being hosted by the local community hub EZ Bar and Cafe on Viaduct Road from 10 am – 4 pm, and there will be a range of craft stalls and activities, a barbecue, as well as fun and games for all the family.

It is also being supported by all the other businesses under the arches, which can be found just off Manchester Road or via the Bridgewater Canal Path, and a short walk from Timperley and Navigation Road tram stops.

Lisa Storey, founder of EZ Hampers, Cafe, and Bar and the event organiser, said: “As a former head of service at Birmingham Children’s Trust, I know from experience how important local charities are for children and adults with extra needs, which is why we’re supporting The Christie and Stockdales. We’re also doing this in honour of one of the regulars at our bar, Cathy, who sadly passed away recently, and my daughter Erin’s father, who recently recovered from prostate cancer.”
