Airtasker, the trusted local services marketplace, has today announced the launch of its new Business Pioneers Programme in Manchester, aimed at supporting small businesses across the city by offering £1,000 in Airtasker credits to help them access the flexible support they need.

Timed to coincide with National Small Business Month, the initiative will see Airtasker award £1,000 grants to 100 small businesses, with a specific focus on those based in Greater Manchester. The grants are designed to help business owners hire skilled local Taskers through the Airtasker platform, whether for packing orders, cleaning, admin, deliveries, or on-the-ground retail support.

“There’s a huge number of tasks being posted on Airtasker that are clearly business-related, especially in a city like Manchester with such a vibrant entrepreneurial community,” says Tim FungAirtasker CEO and Founder. “From local bakeries to trade businesses and independent retailers, we’re seeing small business owners needing extra hands and Airtasker is a great place to find them.”

With thousands of Taskers in Manchester alone, Airtasker connects small businesses with flexible, on-demand support from locals who set their own rates and build their own profiles. The £1,000 grant will be credited directly to successful applicants’ Airtasker accounts and must be used within four weeks.

The programme was born from Airtasker’s growing role in the small business ecosystem where the line between individual and business is often blurred. Many Taskers are side hustlers, creatives, or self-starters who are also business owners in their own right.

As part of the Business Pioneers campaign, Airtasker will also spotlight selected Manchester businesses through case studies and features, offering them extra visibility across its CRM channels14.7k-follower strong Instagram account (@airtaskeruk), and broader media opportunities.

Small businesses based in Manchester can now apply at https://www.airtasker.com/uk/lp/business-starter-program-manchester/ with grants being awarded on a rolling basis to 30 June 2025
