Trafford MV shows British and Irish Lions test matches in the clubhouse

For all you Rugby lovers – we will be showing the British and Irish Lions Test Matches against the Australian Wallabies in the Clubhouse at Trafford MV Rugby Club, M33 6LR on the following Saturdays: July 19th, 26th, and August 2nd.

We will also be open this Sat, July 12th, for the final warm-up game prior to the Test matches – again, kick-off 11:00 am.

We would like to invite any locally living Australians especially to come on down, enjoy the game, and add to the special atmosphere that surrounds a British Lions game.

The games will be kicking off at 11:00 am and the club bar will be open from 10:00 am. Breakfast will be available as will hot and cold beverages to wash it down.

With it being 12 years since the last Lions Tour to Australia, there will be great interest and a fabulous atmosphere in the clubhouse. Families and non-members are welcome, plus we are a dog-friendly club too.

There will be Touch Rugby from 9:00 am if anyone is interested in playing (changing facilities available) and you can follow the rugby by watching some live cricket on the outfields with Trafford MV Cricket hosting visiting teams.

Trafford MV is looking for new young players in the 16-18 year old age groups – if you have been playing rugby at school and are looking to join a local club with great pitches and facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, we would be keen to hear from you. Senior men’s and women’s Rugby at TMV have now started their pre-season training ahead of the challenges in prospect for the 2025/26 season.

The club is looking to add numbers to its playing squads with a particular focus on recruiting players with ambition to play 1st XV Rugby at a competitive level. If you are looking for a new challenge, get in touch and we’ll take it from there. Senior training is every Tues/Thurs at 7:00 pm.
