Simon Lowe, founder of Total Building & Roofing, is proudly representing Trafford as he donates his time, skills, and energy to support the latest BBC DIY SOS: Children in Need project — a major renovation at The Joshua Tree, a Cheshire-based charity supporting families affected by childhood cancer.
Simon was on site today for the Trades Briefing Day, meeting with the production team, fellow tradespeople, and volunteers to discuss the scope of the ambitious 10-day build, which takes place from 2nd to 10th September 2025. The transformation will be revealed on 11th September, and is set to provide vital improvements to the charity’s facilities.
A familiar name across Trafford, Simon Lowe is already recognised as a local community champion, having previously donated materials to scout groups, offered free labour for families in crisis, and distributed children’s books to those in need across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. His involvement in DIY SOS builds on that legacy — bringing his trademark generosity, skill and reliability to a project that will directly support families facing the toughest of times.
“It’s an honour to be part of something that makes a real difference,” said Simon. “The Joshua Tree does incredible work, and I’m proud to lend a hand — alongside so many brilliant volunteers — to help make this happen.”
