Incident near M60 in Urmston causes traffic chaos

According to police, there was a ‘Traffic Incident’ this morning close to the M60 near Lostock Road in Urmston, and traffic has been standing for hours, leading to huge queues on the M60 as far back as Sale.

Other roads were also affected in the Urmston area. According to Google Maps, the roads are still closed and look likely to be that way for some time to come. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

Some buses have been affected, including the 247 from Trafford Centre to Altrincham, which will be delayed and further delayed due to roadworks in Flixton.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Police are currently dealing with a traffic incident near the junction of Lostock Road and the M60 motorway. Please avoid the area and expect delays.”
