Residents in Stretford are being invited to share their views on plans for 116 new homes as part of the next phase of the Stretford Town Centre regeneration.
The public consultation will seek feedback on proposals for Plot 3, the current car park adjacent to Wellington Street, which would see the site transformed into a high-quality residential development.
Transformative property manager CERT, has unveiled its plans featuring a mix of family homes and apartments arranged around a landscaped communal courtyard. The plans include three-bedroom townhouses with private gardens, duplex homes, and a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments.
The development will also offer dedicated off-street parking along Wellington Street, internal cycle storage to encourage active travel, and new trees and planting to enhance the town centre’s greenery.
Stephen Oster, Head of Acquisitions and Development at CERT, comments “After working behind the scenes with our design team, we’re excited to share our vision and invite the community’s feedback on the first residential phase of the Stretford Town Centre Masterplan. This milestone builds on the strong momentum already achieved within the Stretford Town Centre Masterplan and reflects our commitment to working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to deliver a development that is bold in ambition and reflects the identity of Stretford.”
The new development will provide much-needed housing, improve the local streetscape, and increase biodiversity in the town centre, in line with Trafford Council and Bruntwood’s approved Masterplan.
This joint venture sets out a vision to make the town centre safer, cleaner, and more connected, linking homes, parks, public transport, and the canal with local shops. It will restore the historic streets, create a new piazza, add green spaces, and deliver new homes, leisure facilities, and a refreshed high street.
The first phase, King Street, is now complete, with a range of new shops and businesses set to open in the coming months, bringing new energy and activity to the area.
A public drop-in consultation event will take place at the Calm Connections Unit, Stretford Mall, Chester Road, M32 9BD, on 17th September from 4pm to 6pm. Those unable to attend can view the proposals and provide feedback online at wellingtonstreetconsultation.co.uk
The consultation closes on Wednesday 24 September 2025, after which CERT will refine the proposals before submitting a planning application to Trafford Council.
