Police are appealing for information after a mosque was damaged in Stockport, Manchester

Officers attended the Elaf Mosque, which was a former church on Stockport Road, following objects being thrown at the building in the early hours of 4 September.

Chief Inspector Clare Ryle said: “We have met with representatives of the mosque and viewed CCTV of the incident.

“Two people with hoods/face coverings can be seen throwing bricks at the building at around 02:52 am on 4 September, with a number of windows being damaged.

“We have also conducted house-to-house enquiries in the area and will have officers in the area as we try to identify these offenders.

“Anyone with information about the incident or the individuals involved should contact us, quoting log 1036-4/9/25.”
