It was with some surprise to many people that Dragon City on Washway Road in Sale closed its doors for the last time after serving the community delicious food for a long time.

Much speculation from local people was heard and read as to why they had shut the doors; however, we have the real reason and when the new takeaway will reopen.

The last owners decided to retire and looked for a new owner. Fortunately, the new owner was found, and a woman calling herself ‘Kelly’ told us that once work has been completed, they will open a new takeaway which she tells us might be in a couple of months.

She tells us that despite not having a name for the new takeaway, the name Dragon City might remain, which I said is a great idea and would be welcomed.

It is not unusual for a business like the previous takeaway to decide to call it a day. Since the pandemic, when they definitely did not have to close due to the now proven ‘Needless Lockdowns,’ they found that this really bit into their finances. With the increased costs in energy and food, it was almost impossible to stay open.

They couldn’t even afford a chef to cook for them on a Friday and Saturday evening, two days that they would have made a lot of money. Also, they couldn’t have a delivery service or a card payment service due to costs.

The one thing that will never be forgotten about the previous owners by customers was how nice the guy at the counter was. People called him Dave. It is also true that without any doubts and with respect to other Chinese takeaways in the area, Dragon City was also the best for both food quality and freshness.
