We have a busy weekend in store at Trafford MV (TMV) this weekend with the final league weekend of the cricket season, the first home game of the season for the TMV 1st XV, plus the annual South Of The River Beer and Music Festival running over two days for people’s entertainment.
Closing off a successful cricket season, a promotion-chasing 1st XI travels to Malpas while the cup finalist 2nd XI welcomes Warrington CC to MacPherson Park (M33 6LR). A close eye will be kept on the weather in the hope that both games can be completed.
On the rugby front, TMV has two teams taking the field, with the 1st XV welcoming Didsbury Toc H for an early 2:00 PM kick-off in the hope of picking up their first win of the season after losing out at Liverpool St Helens last weekend. Trafford’s 2nd XV travels to Bury, also looking for an opening win to get their campaign underway.
One of Trafford MV’s big events of the year opens on Friday evening at the South Of The River Beer and Music Festival.
With live music (after 5 PM) on both Friday and Saturday and plenty of beer, music, and street food, there will surely be something to suit the taste of the community and supporters of Trafford MV. The club looks forward to welcoming many new faces to the club for this community-focused social event.
The club is inviting the community to come down and support a local, grassroots, amateur sports club that is on your doorstep.
There is no charge for entry to the sports matches at Trafford MV, and we are open for non-members to enjoy our hospitality. Come along and find a new weekend activity. New players are also very welcome.
