Emergency services were called early this morning from a call claiming that a man had driven at people then attacked them with a knife outside a synagogue in Crumpsall, North Manchester.

Two people and the attacker were killed in the incident and some people are in hospital with life threatening injuries.

The man named as 35-year-old Jihad al shami tried to get into a synagogue however and fortunately he was unable to do so due to the bravery of those inside.

Police arrived in super quick time they locked down the synagogue for safety, and also made the immediate area safe whilst paramedics were looking after those that were seriously injured, the attacker was shot dead at the scene apparently within 7 minuets of the first call made.

Later in the day Greater Manchester Police declared this as a terrorist incident, and a large police presence across Greater Manchester will be seen we believe mostly around areas where there is a synagogue.

Two people have since been arrested and images show the man who was shot dead had wires coming from his body, the situation is still on-going and investigators will be looking into the terrorists life and those who he knew and lived with.

PM Starmer held a Cobra meeting, and in a statement, he mentioned, “Hate is rising again in the UK” and “To every Jewish person in this country, I also want to say this: I know how much fear you will be holding inside of you; I really do.”

This attack on Jewish people is cowardly, innocent people who were supposed to be enjoying the holy day of ‘Yom Kippur’ are now in a state of shock and fearful of more attacks on them which is unacceptable.

With the huge increases in illegal migrants in the UK and other people including kids being radicalised the UK must keep alert for anything suspicious in communities.

The cause of terrorism is thought to do with people weaponizing religious texts and pure hatred; it’s also to do with needless wars that killed millions of innocent people. Adding religious texts to revenge is not a good mix, and this is where mostly terrorism is born.

Depending on what you believe religious text is believed to be the word of god, the issues with this is the text will have been written in different times, so for every century people’s attitudes, beliefs and just about everything else change! the text will mean something different so for example the wording ‘If you die for me I will make you a martyr’ will mean to some deluded people in our times that it will be ‘OK to kill someone because god will make me a martyr’

Religious text still represents the religion, and much of it will help out in the modern day; however, some of it will be also changed by the deluded to something different.

Without question today’s attack on the innocent people in Manchester was sickening.
