Sale care home nominated for national award

The team at a care home in Sale is celebrating after being recognized for its exceptional care and commitment to residents.

Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Washway Road in Sale has been shortlisted in the North Care Home of the Year category of the Caring UK Awards, which champion and reward excellence and team effort in care homes across the UK.

Oakfield Croft was nominated for its strong team culture and resident-focused ethos. The team is dedicated to delivering person-centered care from day one, supporting residents to live fulfilled and enriched lives. Residents help shape daily activities and decisions, and individual wishes are respected, including end-of-life care, where the team has worked with community nurses to honor final requests.

Oakfield Croft also plays an active role in the local community, hosting dementia cafés, summer fetes, and Blue Light breakfasts to connect with fellow healthcare professionals.

The awards will take place at Athena in Leicester on Thursday 4th December.

Oakfield Croft is designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilling lives while also promoting independence, and incorporates plenty of space for hobbies and leisure activities. The building’s layout is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and boasts facilities including a cinema, café, and hair and beauty salon.
