Trafford MV field 3 teams once again this weekend with good weather forecast for the players and spectators to enjoy the games.

Unfortunately for the spectators, there are no home games this Saturday, leaving it to the U17s to hold court on Sunday afternoon, kicking off at 12:30 PM.

On Saturday, TMV 1st XV enter round 4 of the Counties 1 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire League of the Northern Division. They take to the road and head to the coast to face New Brighton.

Confidence will be good after securing their first win of the season last weekend at Broughton Park. New Brighton also has just a single win under their belts. Trafford MV’s team will be announced on Friday – check the Facebook page for the update.

With NB and TMV sitting 7th and 8th respectively, a tight game could be expected. Will home advantage be enough for the seasiders, or can Trafford MV upset the apple cart and kick sand in the faces of the home side? Watch for the match report in Monday’s News4Trafford news release.

TMV’s 2nd XV make the journey to Vale of Lune 3rds and will need to put in a strong performance to have a good chance of bringing league points home.

The TMV 3rd XV also travels away as they take on Littleborough 3rds. With both teams having 3 wins under their belts, this could be an exciting game, with maybe the best defense making the match-winning difference.

On Sunday, our Junior Colts U17s welcome Cumbrian Kirkby Lonsdale to MacPherson Park (M33 6LR). This will be a contest between two good sides, as league leaders Kirkby, with 4 wins from 5 games, and TMV, with 3 wins from 4 games, are quite well matched.

Trafford MV are keen to welcome local teenage rugby players from local grammar/high schools to training with a view to getting game time in the matchday playing squads.

If you know of any boys wishing to play for a friendly club with excellent on- and off-field facilities, please point them in the direction of wilfdooley@virginmedia.com, and your interest will be flagged with the coaching teams.

Keep your eyes peeled for Trafford MV’s next home games – admission is free and the bar is open to enjoy our hospitality. Watch local, amateur, grassroots sport – there for all to enjoy without a huge price tag!
