Manchester-based technology company Shipster has announced a new move into warehouse visibility and quality control technology with an integration that connects its shipping platform to camera systems.
The development provides eCommerce and logistics companies with a secure video audit trail for every shipment, helping them reduce errors, prevent fraud, and improve customer confidence.
Fully configurable and hardware agnostic, the integration can work with any camera system and has already been deployed for several Shipster customers, reflecting strong demand for visibility and traceability in modern fulfillment.
The integration has already been deployed for a number of Shipster customers, demonstrating demand for greater visibility and audit trails in fulfillment.
The approach also opens up new opportunities in sectors where visibility is critical, including luxury fashion, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and perishables. Beyond resolving disputes or verifying orders, retailers could even offer customers a secure video of their order being dispatched or apply AI-driven insights from packing-bench data to identify inefficiencies and improve warehouse performance.
Shipster’s latest innovation arrives at a time when returns, shrinkage, and fulfillment mistakes are costing the UK retail sector billions each year. With eCommerce return rates now hovering around 17.5 percent, costing retailers up to £60 billion annually, the pressure to deliver flawless fulfillment has never been greater.
Shrinkage and theft are forecast to reach nearly £8 billion, while administrative errors already account for more than £1.2 billion a year. Accuracy, visibility, and robust audit trails are now essential for safeguarding margins and maintaining customer trust.
Tony Cheetham, Founder and CEO of Shipster, said: “Our customers have been calling for greater visibility and accountability at the packing bench, and this innovation is our answer.
“By linking order data with video, we help warehouses reduce errors, resolve disputes faster, and deliver the transparency that fosters customer trust. This is about more than today’s audit trail: camera integration gives retailers measurable advantages now, from fraud prevention and error reduction to quality control for high-value deliveries, while also laying the groundwork for tomorrow’s AI-driven fulfillment, where automation and intelligence will define the next wave of growth.
“It marks the next phase of Shipster’s journey as we expand our technology to meet the fast-changing needs of eCommerce and logistics.”
Founded in 2015 by software house Oddsphere, Shipster has grown organically to support businesses including Couture Club, SkateHut, Global Football Company, AYBL, and Rixo.
