CrossCountry customers are being advised that timetables will be running as scheduled on 1 November, following the suspension of planned industrial action by the RMT union.
Saturday, 1 November, is expected to be a busy day for many town and city centres across the CrossCountry network – with a combination of planned engineering works and pre-Christmas events expected to draw large crowds.
CrossCountry’s Managing Director, Shiona Rolfe, said: “We are pleased that RMT has suspended planned strike action this Saturday 1 November, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board. Thanks must also go to colleagues who have worked tirelessly to reinstate a full timetable on Saturday, to make sure people can get to where they need to be.
“Engineering work on parts of the network will still mean some changes to journeys – if you’re planning to travel this Saturday, please check your journey before setting off.”
Passengers planning to travel with CrossCountry on Saturday 1 November should check their journey with National Rail Enquiries or on the CrossCountry website: www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk .
