A man has been charged after he attacked innocent members of the public on board an LNER train from Doncaster to Kings Cross in London which diverted to Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire.
The suspect is named as Anthony Williams aged 32 of no fixed abode was charged with 10 counts of attempted murder at Peterborough Magistrates and was remanded in custody today after he attacked 11 people.
At this time 5 people are in hospital including a LNER train worker who is in a critical but stable condition and 22-year-old Scunthorpe United football Player Jonathon Gjoshe who had surgery on his arm and hand.
This was first thought to be a terror related incident but now looks more like a concern for welfare as the man according to our research seems to previously presenting with serious mental health issues after witnesses in other incidents described him as being agitated and shouting things that suggested he needed mental health support before going on to attack all 11 people with a big knife.
It has been reported that British Transport Police have charged Williams for attacking a teenage boy with a knife in London on 1 November.
