Flixton Road was underwater again overnight, which left some residents confused as in recent times the same water pipes had cracked, leaving them with low pressure and for some, no water at all.
United Utilities were on the scene and, unlike last time, managed to fix the leaking pipe fairly quickly, with full service restored early this morning.
The water firm has also completed works on Church Road at around 11 a.m. this morning.
It is currently unknown why this new crack in the pipes happened; however, some people believe that one utility at a time should be working on any road that is fixing or upgrading pipes to ensure issues like we have seen are unlikely to happen.
This year, Trafford has seen many more leaks than we have seen in a while, with pipes cracking in Altrincham, Sale, Partington, and smaller incidents in other areas of Trafford. The pipes to supply water are often very old and need replacing, with United Utilities making a fortune in profits. The least they could do is ensure all pipes are new and more robust.
