An Altrincham-based gymnastics club is celebrating outstanding international success after its artistic team traveled to Germany last weekend to compete in their first overseas competition.

Gymfinity Gymnastics competed against clubs from nine countries, including the UK, Albania, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, Kosovo, and Romania, marking a major milestone for the club’s competitive program.

For many of the gymnasts, this was their first experience of international competition. They all produced performances that were strong and consistent across all apparatus, resulting in multiple podium finishes, several overall champions, the highest overall scores within levels, and three team titles.

Away from the competition floor, the trip provided valuable opportunities for team bonding and personal development. Gymnasts, parents, and coaches explored the local area together and experienced Germany’s Christmas markets, making the weekend a memorable and confidence-building experience for all.

Founder and Head Coach Ruth Chapman said:

“Competing against clubs from across the world is a huge step for our gymnasts. The confidence and composure they showed on the international stage were outstanding, and they represented Altrincham and Trafford with real pride.”

Gymfinity Gymnastics based on Atlantic Street in Altrincham has been operating for over 15 years and supports gymnasts from beginner level through to performance and elite pathways.

With international success now firmly under their belt, the club is already looking ahead to future overseas competitions.
